It’s just filling my life with stuff that’s about weight loss. Couch-to-5k, they’re one of my fans and or friends on Facebook. You know, I carry my blackberry with me everywhere I go, so I see all the messages coming in. And on my Facebook, I learned this morning about training and adding in weights into your running program.

That’s whats got me motivated this week to do that. So, those are some things. A couple of new products I want to share with you. My newest favorite the fiber. I got rid of the Fiber Choice. They’re chalky, not fun to eat. These are gummies, 10 calories, and 5 grams of fiber. One more gram of fiber.

I need my fiber. Here is another fiber treat. Not a lot of protein. One hundred and twenty calories, nine grams of fiber, two proteins and this is the Fiber Plus antioxidant bar, chocolate chip from Kellogg. Skinny Water from Target, have you seen it? Have you tried it? I’m trying it. zero calories, zero sugars, zero guilt.

The one I had already, eh, OK. But anyway, those are some new products I wanted to share with y’all. Thanks for watching, thank you so much for support each and every day we have to make a choice. Choices have rewards and they have consequences. Go with the choice that gives you the reward. reward, the reward is moving down the path on this journey to success.

We’re losing weight for every reason that you have in your head. So all I ask is that we each go out and make these choices every day. somebody asked me, can I put chicken in the chowder instead of tuna? Sure. I would suggest adding various things, I think chicken sounds good. You could do shrunk.

you could do crab. Make it, show it to me, tell me what you got. Proof gastric banding weight loss surgery works. 7 days a week. Check us out, at www.slimband.com. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Sorry for the speed. I wanted to share a lot of information with y’all. Talk to you soon. Take care. Bye.

Do people treat me differently after my weight loss? No. do not notice people treating me differently. My friends, my family, they’ve seen me at this weight, they’ve seen me at my heaviest, they’ve seen me at my goal. I’ve had 14 years of “yo-yo-yo-yo-yo” so they’re not, I’m not on the market, I’m in love.

I live with my boyfriend, so I’m not dating, so I don’t know what that’s like. But the viewer had mentioned that their skinny friends get treated differently than they do, because they’re still fat. I talked to a friend about this. He told my always been confident, I’ve always had charisma, I’ve always had charm.

You know, I take control when I enter a situation. So, fortunately, I’ve never had that issue, but I wanna tell you guys if that is your situation. I learn this five years ago my MBA class. We deserve what we accept. We deserve what we accept. We also treat people how to treat So if you’re not feeling confident and you feel like people are treating you unfairly or different, work on your confidence pull your shoulders back, work on your body language, pull your head up, stick your chin up when you walk into the room.

Review conversational topics, things that can get you into conversations easier with people. Work on your self-esteem, work on your confidence, and that will eventually shine through. So that’s what I have say to that viewer, I hope it helps, and I answered your question. The other thing I want to talk about, is that I do feel my lap band.

This fill, I’m tender, I think I have been mindless for the last 15 weeks. I think it’s led to me overeating and having the PB episodes. That’s why I’m actually happy with the two week liquids. Those people who are just now post op, take the time to heal. Learn what your body feels like. Learn how it fills up, how quickly it fills up on the liquids that you’re doing.

That’s what I’m doing. This is a relearning process and I have not PBed for over about 11 days. Pretty good. And I’ve only been on liquids for 3. My goals for this week one, sign up for the 5 k. I did it, my second 5 k in Long Beach, on Thanksgiving the Long Beach turkey trot. And that is you can run it or walk it so if there is anybody local who wants to do it with me at 7:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving please join me.

Let me know. Twenty five dollars in. I’m gonna add another minute to each workout I do this week. Last week I did it, I maxed out at 3 minutes, I had 3 workouts. This week I’m gonna hope to max it out at 3 minutes again. Just got back from the gym, I added that extra minute. So I ran for 34 minutes tonight, by the end of the week, 36 minutes.

I’ve got to start using my weights. I have free weight here, I want to circuit train at the gym. I have the Wii Fit in multiple programs with resistance bands. I’ve got to do it. I’m losing the weight, I’m starting to get a little bit of jiggle here. Don’t don’t really care, my arms are smaller now then they were 31 weeks ago.

But, I know that I have to do it, hold me accountable, check me on that, make sure I’m I have my integrity intact on that one. What is my motivation this week? What’s got me going? Number one, Sky moon you know. Did you see her video from last year’s birthday to this year’s birthday? Phenomenal.

And let me just tell you guys, she has worked hard for this. I have watched her journey. In those pictures yesterday, she was radiating confidence, she was radiating self love, she’s radiating happiness, she’s radiating courage, she’s radiating strength, she’s radiating empowerment. Love you, Melanie.

Awesome, thank you so much. That’s my key to this week. Secondly, I paid my couch, or I paid for that 5K, $25, I got to work to make sure I can finish it strong. Third, I buy fitness magazines, fitness in shape. I learn about different techniques, I see other success stories, there’s menus, there’s workout plans.

Hey YouTube! This is Wendy. A lot to cover, third time i’ve done this, it’s week 31, i started out at 244, i was in 196 [xx] last week, today I’m 190, that’s 6 pounds lost in a week. I’m 5’10″, my BMI was originally 35. My BMI is now 27 i’ve lost 54 pounds. I have 45 more pounds to go to reach my goal of 145 pounds, I’m gonna get there.

I’m doing the liquid diet so much to talk about with that, i’m on the extreme 2 weeks. Most people do 2 days liquids, 2 days mu shies. My doctor’s a lap band patient [xx] I’m ok with the 2 weeks. It’s basically like as we lose weight, the lap band loosens. Our organs get smaller just like pulling on a pair of jeans that are too big, you put a belt on in there.

[xx] them up. They put the as line in. It cinches up the lap band–that is rubber and/or plastic going against our organs. so everybody is different, each patient is different, there’s a sensitivity level there. The goal is to let it adjust, and not have to work to to chew to let food digest. So, two weeks for me, here’s my modified diet, what I’ve had today a venti, the biggest, hot tea, non-fat tea mist o.

It’s half non-fat milk, half water, 2 awake tea bags, 4 Splendid. I had a protein shake with frozen bananas, peanut butter. It was a chocolate protein with water, ice, and flaxseed oil. Loved it. 2 hours I drank on that thing. Had my chowder soup that I made last night for lunch. Had my supplement Body FX with some water on my way to the gym.

I’m either going to have a protein shake or some type of soup for dinner. I’ll drink more water, I might have some more iced tea, I might do an Hawaiian Punch Light in a can, hard to find. zero sugar, 5 calories. It’s a good fix when you’ve got those munches in the evening. [xx] [xx] ask me a question.

What else can I tell you? The night after my surgery, I, you know, made sure I was taking my pain medications as recommended every four hours because I didn’t want to become in excruciating pain and I only ended up waking up once that night and I was in quite a bit of pain, almost a little bit to the point where I was nauseous.

So I made sure I took the graball and the pain meds together and was able to get it pretty compressed on there. Saturday, or the following day, I just, you know, took it easy. I didn’t want to push myself too hard. They really recommend just taking your time. You know, don’t try to push ahead, so I just followed their recommendations, and like I said, I feel really well.

The incision sites are secret to be healing up really well. The left side is still the most tender one and I was told that it would be so not a big surprise. is there. Other than that I just have a little bit of, like, you know, tenderness and tightness I would say in the upper abdominal area. So if I hiccup it’s kind of a little bit of an owie [sp?] but nothing that, like I said, makes me cry or anything like that.

So, other than that finish my fifth day of the clear liquids, and I felt really good about it. I stuck to it, you know, with water, teas, juice and the broths. And, you know, until today I really didn’t have a feeling of hunger, just the habit, and the habit by what I mean is, you know, lunch time means it’s time to eat, or in the morning I think I should be eating.

But, you know, I found that I would just have my fluids and I was happy with that. So other than that, I would say that things are going really well for me. I had weighed myself this morning and I was down approximately 10 pounds, 10 pounds and five eighths. And that’s crazy, but of course, when you’re just drinking clear fluids that is to be expected.

Tomorrow I’m starting with my full fluids for the week and I’m not anticipating any problems there. Either I’m going to, you know, try the V8 juices, you know, make up some smoothies and just take it day by day. And that’s all I can do. So I am here to answer any questions that you might have about the procedure or Slimband.

Anything I can answer. Shout out to another YouTube bandster band, I just noticed that you had a shout to me prior to my surgery and that’s so sweet of you. So thank you. And, like I said, message me or call into my video and I’ll try to answer anything that I possibly can. Until, I’m going to try to do this once a week so until next week, take care and we’ll see you then.

Thanks.

Hi there, Youtube. This is shyshy1981, and I’m so excited to be able to share with you my experiences and journey with the Slimband procedure. Today is my fifth day from being banded, and I have to say that things going really well for me. I’ve had minimal pain, not a lot of gas, and thankfully, I feel like I’m recovering quite well.

Starting with this video, I’m going to touch base with my journey with the surgery and up to date how things have been. So I was banded on March 11th, so I had to actually had to fly out to Toronto. I am from Alberta, so it was quite a little hike out there, but I arrived there on early Thursday morning, and basically that day we just took it easy.

Did a little bit of sightseeing and shopping and had an early night.

I was required to be at the Slimband Clinic about 9:00 in the morning so gave ourselves plenty of time, arrived at the clinic. The Slimband staff were all fantastic. They were very through. Asked me if I had any questions.

I really didn’t have a lot of questions because I really did my homework before showing up there. I had watched quite a few YouTube videos. I had been in touch with other people who had been banded and I had read some blogs and such, as well as consulted with the consultant a couple of times as well.

So I was really confident with going into the procedure, and I think that that’s important because I never felt anxious or nervous, really. I was just ready ready for the surgery.

So basically they prepped me, made me feel really comfortable, and before I knew it I was waking up recovery. A very little pain. I would say the most I felt was the left side incision seemed to be quite sore, and I complained about that. And the other thing that I complained about was that I was really cold and I guess that’s a very common thing with coming out of general anesthesia.

So other than that I felt really good. They make you drink a glass of water, make sure that you can pass that easily and after that, if you’re feeling up to it, you’re ready to go home.

So we went back to the hotel room and I actually just crawl into bed and relax, slept it off and took it really easy that evening. We did a little bit of, we went for a short walk up the street and back. And I made myself walk just because that is prevention of the gas pains that everybody talks about, so even I was just going to the wash room make sure that I put in a little walk in there so I would just go up the hallway and walk back and forth a couple of times.

And I really think that did help because I had minimal pain. I had no pain in my upper left hand shoulder and I really dreaded that for some reason. But so far so good with the gas. So good luck to you, as well, if you’re worried about that.

The form I’m currently using, you know, I understand Speaker 1: that is a place to go and to share your experiences. But you know to go on there and be little and be great you know the company. Speaker 1: or the staff where you or other it’s just not the place and I hope each and everyone of you have the etiquette’s to not do that because there are those bandmaster like myself and several other people out there that go on those farms for support, motivation, inspiration and when you go on there and you read these things it makes you second guess what you’ve done and I mean, I guess there will always be those people that will be like that, but I can tell you right off the bat, if you have a negative attitude going into the procedure or shortly after having the procedure done, you know, if the odds are that this just isn’t going to be successful for you.

And, you know, that’s just kind of all I wanted to say about it. I hope that, you know, don’t take that the wrong way anybody, but you know, use those forms wisely, and think about other people when you’re on there and you’re writing those posts so. To all dancers out there, good luck! I hope to have videos every week or every second week and to those, like I said, that are thinking about it, watch the videos, you know, feel free to e-mail or send me a through the YouTube messaging and I’ll try to answer them the best that I possibly could–can.

Oh! The one thing, and I guess I should of said it, mentioned it first off, is I never mentioned any numbers before in my videos. And by that I mean is I never revealed to all of you what exactly my weight was.

So, on March 11th when I was banded, I was 226 pounds. The heaviest that I have ever been in my entire life. Not something I’m proud of, but that was the reality of it. I had kind of come to a point where I wasn’t happy with myself, I wasn’t happy with the situation, I wasn’t happy with the way I was feeling.

And I can say in a month that has done basically a back flip and I feel so good. Today I weighed myself–actually, yesterday. I weighed myself on Monday. and I was down to 210.4. So, I’ve lost just about 16 pounds and that’s pretty awesome, because I don’t think I lost sixteen pounds on any diet, let alone thirty days.

So, I will reach on and I hope you all do to. Anyway, take care talk to you soon.

Hi there, YouTube, this is chychy1981 here. And I’m sorry it’s been a few weeks since I’ve been on, been able to create a video and so my apologies to those who were watching my videos. Life has just been busy and I really just haven’t had a chance to sit down and create a video. So, I guess better late than never, so here it is.

Today is April 12th and today is one month and one day since I was banded. Overall I feel really good. I feel really good mentally and physically. I still feel 100% with my decision to be banded. And I still look forward to waking up each day and utilizing this tool that I have had surgically placed.

Sooverall, no complaints in those areas. As in, I had a big fear about the scars, and I don’t know, you know why, but I just had pictured that, oh I’d have three more scars and they actually look like cat scratches, so nothing to be worried about. I had three incision sites and they are all completely, a hundred percent, healed.

The port side, I would say, is just a little bit tender, but, you know, nothing that I have to take pain medication or anything like that. Today was my first day back in exercise mode. I decided to start training for a 5k again, which I’ve done in the past, but I’ve all seemed to run into problems with my shins and I’m not going to put it past the point of just being overweight, that my shins after about six weeks they just really start to take a beating and they end up causing more pain so I end up stopping.

Today I was able to get in my first set of intervals and they felt great so I’m happy about that. You know, I don’t really have a whole lot to tell you all. Like I said, I feel good. I feel confident. I hope to each and every one of you that are banded all the best and I hope to those that are looking at getting banded, I hope, you do your homework.

I hope you do the research. Talk to other bandsters. Watch the YouTube videos. Don’t go into this procedure blindsided because I have watched videos and I’ve read comments from people that I really think just, you know, didn’t really know what this was all about. And it most definitely isn’t easy, it isn’t a magical, you know, tool.

It isn’t something that you have placed and you, you know, walk up two months later and all your weight is gone. That is not being realistic. But realistic is that, this is a scientifically proven tool that will assist each and every one of us if its used properly and I believe in that a hundred percent.

One thing that I’m just gonna briefly touch base on and it just really irritates me, so I just have to throw it out there, there are several forums out there. banisters. For those who are looking to get banded, and within all those there always seems to be the negative and I tell ya, it bugs the heck out of me.

Being mobile does get rid of it, but I find it does come back. It’s not so much that it’s like a killer pain, it’s just annoying and uncomfortable is the best way I can describe it. My incisions don’t ache at all. They’re clean, I do still have the gauze on, cause you can’t take the gauze off for three days.

And underneath the gauze is sterile strips which don’t come off for five days. So I have yet to see what that looks like, but I know they’re not bothering me. It’s more kind of like aches and pains inside. Today I got up Me and my husband went to the grocery store, so that’s not even twelve hours after my initial surgery.

And I was up, walking around the grocery store. Picked out some juices, jellos, pedialytes, because for the first week I am on a liquid only diet. They’re going down okay. I can’t gulp them fast. I don’t know if it’s in my head, but it almost feels like I can feel the point where they hit the band and have to maybe drain a little bit slower because with Slim Band, with this company, they do do a fill while you’re there.

So I have already had my first fill. I’m not sure how many cc’s they put in yet. I have to talk to someone tomorrow about it. But there is cc’s in there. So there is a bit of restriction, but I’m not sure how much. What else is there to say? Nobody knows about it. The only people that know about it are my mother and my husband, and it’s not that I don’t feel that I have support, or it’s not that I’m ashamed of it, it’s just I don’t want people thinking I took the easy way out, or you know, or that I don’t wanna be lectured about the dangers of it, and this that and the other.

So everybody does think I had gall bladder surgery and I just had my gall bladder removed. I don’t know, maybe later on in life I’ll tell them that yes, this is how I’ve lost weight, or if it was successful, you know, I can back it up. But I’ve just chosen, for myself, to not let very many people know.

But after research I do feel it is the best way to go. You know, I dieted. I’ve been a yo-yo dieter. Every time I diet I gain it back. I’m successful for maybe 6 months. Never a year. I never make it a year. So, this was a drastic change and I just feel that, you know, it’s something that I really wanted to do and I was willing to pay for it, and I have the support of my husband And you know, it’s, I’m hoping to be very successful.

So what I will do is I will blog or put a video up, probably every week with some, you know, whether I’ve gained or lost. I haven’t weighed myself since surgery. I’m hoping to just weigh myself once a week. Cause I know I will go up and down and the numbers will change. I haven’t done any measurements yet – that’s a little bit of gas – or anything like that.

I’ll keep an update on how I’m feeling every week. If there’s any changes, I do have to give props to banded Wendy who I’ve been watching on Youtube and also I think her name is Sky Moon, who was amazing. Props to you. I’ve never left any comments, but very good video blogs. I’ve watched you from the beginning and you guys were a you know, a decision maker on me doing this.

So, I guess that’s it for now. I will pop back on probably next Tuesday or Wednesday, hopefully with the weigh in, hopefully with good news, and I will keep you posted. Bye.

Hi, my name’s Angie. I’ve never really video blogged before, or even had a reason to I guess. I wasn’t even sure if I was going to do it for this. But I figured that, as I went through YouTube looking for other people’s blogs and testimonials on the slim band. I’ve been watching them for about 2 or 3 months.

And it really helped me in my decision and really helped me to decide on whether to do this or not.

Now, as to whether I post them on YouTube or just keep them on my laptop just to be seen, because I’m not quite sure yet. But I guess I’ll start from the beginning. I got slimband yesterday which was January twenty fifth. I had it done at about one thirty in the afternoon. I decided to go to a doctor in Toronto.

The company was called Slimband. I’m from Ontario so so it was close enough. I started looking at the procedure probably back in 2010 as one of my New Year’s Resolutions was to of course get healthy, and i decided to go along with the surgery. Unfortunately, in Ontario It’s not covered by [xx] now if you go to Alberta or you go to Quebec, it’s covered.

I don’t understand why it’s not covered in Ontario. But i was willing to pay the $16,000 just to get it done. And to have a normal life. So, like i was saying, I had it done yesterday As part of the diet, or as part of the surgery you have to do a 1 week Detox so before my one week detox I was at 200 pounds even.

I’m only 5 foot 2 so that brought my BMI up to 37, which was extreme obesity. By the time yesterday when i went in and i weighed in for my surgery i was down to 194.5. So on the detox i had lost five pounds, 4.5 pounds, somewhere around there. They do take a picture of you, so this is what I look like going into my surgery.

I’ll get it over here. That’s me, at my heaviest. So they give that kind of as a memory so that you can keep, but I do have lots of pictures that I just don’t like. They also give you a binder, which is my bible, everything telling you what to do from now until two years post-op. It has a diary for you.

It has pictures slides and stuff like that. It gives you menus and stuff and how to eat because the Slimband is only a tool. It’s not going to do the dieting for you. You do have to change your lifestyle. But I figured I would tell you how I’m feeling. So I had it yesterday. The ride home was about an hour and a half.

My husband and my mother came with me. Going into surgery, I got my IV. Passed out right away. I don’t remember much of anything else. About three and a half hours later I woke up. I was able to dress myself. A nurse carried my bags out for me. I met everybody in the waiting room. I don’t really remember too much.

I was still a little groggy.

But so then we went in the car. I slept the whole way home, about an hour and a half. Got home. I think I laid down right away. I can’t really remember. I wasn’t in pain. I do have three incisions. I know some people have only had two. Some people have had five. I don’t know why I had three. They did find a medium hernia where it was pushing my stomach up in to my esophagus, which would explain all the acid reflux and everything that’s been going on for probably about two, three years they fixed that while they were in there so it kind of killed 2 birds with 1 stone.

I honestly can’t say that it’s painful. I haven’t used my Demerol which I’ve gotten prescribed Demerol. I think the worst part is gas pains which you hear everybody saying, “Oh I got gas, I got gas”. I have my gas in my left shoulder. The only thing that alleviates it is like sitting up or even walking around.

But I don’t really mind. It’s better than it was before, and if turn I don’t have huge humongous rolls anymore. My measurements now are 37 for my hips, 29 for my waist and 38 for my chest, I think. So, still hourglass, so still happy.

I’m currently 155 pounds, which is pretty much what my goal was, and I feel really good. I think my hips are probably like thirty six and a half and I started at 41 or 42. I am very happy to still have like this not be completely straight. From the back I’m happy with it cause I felt for someone like it just looked huge.

It looked way worse in the back, but I mean I feel like it looks pretty much fine right now.

I am 152 pounds. I feel pretty good. I know I probably look about the same as I did in my 155 video cause it’s only a few pounds. But yeah, I mean I feel good. My hips are about 36 inches. My waist is 28 1/2, so I think that’s good. Yeah.

This is amazing. So, that’s from the side. Yeah, nothing very exciting. In the back I can’t really tell if it’s giving me a huge muffin top in the back or not. Hi. So, before I stand up I’m now 148 pounds so I’m really, really happy about that. I feel really good.

So, I’ll stand up. That’s from the front; the side; back; and then the other side.

I feel really good. My body fat percentage now is 20.5, which is awesome because I started at 38 percent, I think. I feel really, really good. I just actually – this morning – I did a 5K and I finished first place in the 20 to 24 year olds. So, that was awesome. That’s what, that’s been, that’s been one of my goals for a while.

So I’m really, really happy about that.

And it’s just crazy how much different everything is now because I’m going to the beach and I’m wearing a bikini and I’m not self conscious at all. I used to actually, I used to layer my clothes because I thought it made me look thinner and now I can get away with only wearinghere ‘s just so many things now that I can do that I just, I never imagined myself doing.

I actually used to go to the gym and feel ridiculously self conscious especially being around the big tough guys just feeling what they were making fun of me something but now they are talking to me so that’s cool to, but a lot of people have been asking me what I have been doing to lose the weight like my diet and my work-out.

And actually I found this website called Belly Fat Combat and it’s awesome. It’s amazing. It helped me so much and I tell everyone about it. So, yeah, you should definitely check it out. But, okay, that’s all.
